Privateer Navy Yard is a series of single cask rums bottled by the Privateer distillery. The distillery, based in Ipswich, Massachusetts, produces these rums as a tribute to the old warships and privateers that plied their trade in Boston.
Navy Yard is a double-distilled molasses rum. The molasses comes from a single farm in Guatemala.
The first distillation of the must is carried out in a pot-still, followed by the second in a column. It is aged in 200-liter new American oak barrels.
It is after at least 2 years of aging that this vintage is bottled without reduction and without cold filtration, barrel by barrel.
Here barrel No. 651 has a strength of 56.4°.
