The Balvenie 16-year-old French Oak is a 16-year-old single malt Scotch whisky. The Balvenie family distillery, located on Speyside, was founded in 1892. To this day, it strives to maintain traditional methods, in order to offer products of the highest quality. For example, Balvenie is still one of the last distilleries in Scotland to malt its own barley, as it has its own traditional malting floors.
After an initial 6 years aging in old American oak barrels, this cuvée was finished in barrels that had previously contained Pineau des Charentes.
