Varadero 7 ans owes its finesse and delicacy to the passion and experience of Cuba's maestro roneros.
The slow aging of this traditional rum in oak barrels gives it a rich aroma, making it a tasting eau-de-vie that respects Cuban traditions.
Varadero 7 ans can be drunk neat or on the rocks.
Laurent's tasting notes
Its color is a light amber.
On the nose, the profile is light. The dominant aromas are vanilla and caramel, but there is a surprising hint of grape. The whole is sweet, but without suggesting sweetness on the palate.
On the palate, the attack is relatively round (more than expected, but without being too round). Vanilla dominates, with caramel in the background. The woodiness is very discreet.
The finish is moderately long, again with notes of vanilla and caramel. This sweet sensation lingers for a while, then disappears to give way to something drier.
Hansy Haberkorn
I didn't like this rum at all. I found it very disappointing.
Nose: ethanol.
Palate: ethanol, sugar, wood (very light).
Finish: no length.
Louison
A pleasant, slightly smoky rum. It could be confused with certain whiskies. A rum for connoisseurs
Globe trotter
This rum takes me back to my trip to Cuba in 2007 ... I smell liquorice emanations that turn into a vegetal bouquet on the palate! A superb scent of freshly cut herbs. Typically my kind of rum!
