Widow Jane 10 Years Bourbon is a blend of the finest barrels from Kentucky, Tennessee and Indiana.
Widow Jane is hand-assembled in Brooklyn in batches of 5 barrels.
This bourbon is reduced with mineral water from New York's Rosendale Mines, and is not chill-filtered.
Each bottle is hand-numbered.
Florian's tasting notes
Widow Jane is dressed in an orange-gold gown from which many tears flow relatively slowly.
The nose invites you to indulge in caramel, cooked butter and vanilla. The floral and spicy world of the great Bourbons is also present: yellow rose, violet and melon. Pretty cherry notes. A gentle woodiness takes over, with raisins and marzipan.
Dry and tender on the palate, we begin with toasted cask, caramel and vanilla. Flowers are immediately present, with lavender notable. Red fruits, including cherry, clearly assert themselves. The palate is lifted by a welcome blend of cinnamon and ginger.
The finish is guided by dry, zan-like licorice and 100% cocoa.
Long, persistent finish on zan and cocoa, gently herbaceous but never bitter, with a dry return to cinnamon.
"Very nice Bourbon, fresh and greedy, well-fruited, complex and long, a digestif that should be enjoyed over a long period of time."

If I had to define this bourbon in 2 words, I'd say boring and expensive. We've tasted much more interesting bourbons at better prices. The flavors are too platonic and lack punch...
