Caney

The Caney distillery , Cuba's second-largest rum producer, is a true institution, ranking among the most famous brands in the Caribbean. Located in the south of the island, near the city of Santiago, the estate benefits from the fertile lands surrounding the Sierra Maestra mountains.
Caney rums inherit 150 years of expertise from Ron Ligero, created in 1862 by Facundi Bacardi. Following the 1959 revolution, Bacardi emigrated to the United States, but the distillery continued to operate with the help of the Maestros Roneros who remained. It was in 1962 that Ron Caney was officially established, becoming the rum of the revolution.
Ron Caney's international reputation is rooted in Santiago's sugarcane plants, grown without fertilizers or pesticides, the Caribbean sun and the invaluable training of the Maestros Roneros. Read less
