Caney Carta Blanca 38°: Description and customer reviews

Caney Carta Blanca is a white rum distilled from molasses extracted from Santiago sugar cane. Drawing its character from the distillery's age-old know-how, Carta Blanca also benefits from 3 years' aging in oak casks, a particularity compared to classic white rums that guarantees its aromatic richness.

Caney Carta Blanca is ideal for making mojito or Cuba Libre. It will also enrich other cocktails with its delicate aromas.

Nico's tasting notes

Summary: sugar - vanilla - lemon - light - fresh - round in the mouth - ethereal

The nose of this rum is sweet, starting with simple notes of cane sugar syrup and a slightly acidic impression. It has a candy-like quality, like a red fruit or banana treat. It gradually opens up to more vegetal and fruity notes, with licorice, lemongrass or lime. The sweetness and acidity return with a slightly acid peach poached with mint and put in syrup.
With aeration, this fruit-in-syrup feeling remains, i.e., there's something at once fruity, light and sweet. The rum is now wide open, and above all fresh. With its notes of lemon and lavender, this freshness is almost soap-like. The alcohol notes are rather floral, a little spicy or possibly spicy. Sugar and vanilla remain at the base of the profile.

On the palate, the rum makes a soft, light entry, with all the roundness of sugar syrup and vanilla. There's a hint of toastiness, the result of barrel aging. The alcohol is quite present, imprinting the palate with a slight metallic hue.

The finish doesn't leave its mark on the palate, the sensation of light rum remains.

"This rum for cocktails offers delicate aromas on the nose and a certain roundness on the palate, without trying too hard to impose itself, it will be a subtle ingredient..."
