Nico's tasting notes
In brief: planty - woody - vanilla - light - molasses
On the nose, there's a certain originality, a little something that appeals beyond this light profile. The slightly herbal, earthy character anchors the rum on a fairly solid, traditional base. The woodiness is well-balanced, its sensitive grain rather mellow, infusing its ripe vanilla aromas.
With a little air, the rum sheds its rustic roots and shows easier charms like caramel and sugar syrup. Its nose has become a light, wispy veil that passes delicately under the nostrils.
On the palate, the veil gently settles on the taste buds and begins to diffuse its slightly spicy flavors. It sticks and dissolves on the tongue, embracing it with caramel, toasted wood and coffee.
On the finish, this light rum gathers its aromas around a slightly liquorice or aniseed molasses.
