Smoke Season is the smokiest single malt whiskey expression in the Benriach range.
The production of this expression is ensured during a specific period of the year. During the Smoke Season, the distillery only produces its peated whiskey.
For this, Benriach uses a barley malt smoked with Highland peat. The latter is mainly composed of old trees, heather and ferns.
The aging of this Speyside whiskey takes place in a combination of bourbon barrels and new oak barrels.
The bottling of this special edition is done at a higher level than the classic range.
