Nico's tasting notes
In brief: light - simple - molasses - sweet spices - butterscotch - red fruits
The nose is light and pleasant from the outset, with a strong but balanced presence. The molasses takes off quickly, it's quite black and even a little smoky, with accents of metal or petroleum. The toasty woodiness gives way to spicy notes of cinnamon, vanilla, clove and pepper.
The alcohol that escapes on aeration has something very fruity and a little acidic about it, bringing to mind ripe red fruit enhanced by a few drops of lemon. The rum then settles on softer notes of vanilla and buttery caramel.
The attack on the palate is round, easy and smooth. The cruder character detected on the nose has given way to greed and greater thickness. Licorice molasses is accompanied by banana and salted butter caramel. Sweet spices prolong the pleasure of this simple, light palate.
The finish sums up this tasting of molasses, with its sweetness and a hint of smoke.
"A well-balanced blend, pleasant and accessible, with a little personality. The objective has been met..."
Christophe Delignières
Very fragrant, as pleasant to smell as it is to drink.
