Dzama Arrangé Orange Cinnamon Bark is an arranged rum from Madagascar. The Indian Ocean is one of the high places of the tradition of the arranged rum. Most of the time based on molasses rums, these arranged rums are very round and greedy.
This combination of spices and orange is a bridge to the West Indies, as it is reminiscent of the famous traditional shrubb.
Nico's tasting notes
On the nose, powerful scents of Christmas spices immediately take over. The cinnamon is definitely there, you can even smell its powdery side as if you dipped your nose in the jar of ground spice. The orange peel is also present, candied and slightly dried, it even calls for a whole bunch of other spices.
In the mouth, the powdery cinnamon is always present. It even clings to the tongue and seems almost woody. The orange peel regains its freshness and delivers its fruity notes, as in a gingerbread pastry ready to be baked.
The finish is long, sustained by the orange peel and its lovely bitterness.
