The traditional Onna Joshu 3 Years Koshu sake is produced by the Iwamura house in the eponymous town in Gifu Prefecture.
The name of this brand "Onna Joshu" - which means "The Lady" - pays homage to the history of the town of Iwamura, and more particularly to Otsuya no kata. This woman is represented on the bottle.
Founded in 1797 by the Watarai family, Iwamura produces a sake that is true to the land. The water comes from the Kiso River in the Gifu region and the rice "Hida no homare" is produced only in the same region.
This Onna Joshu brand sake is aged for 3 years.
