Originating from Barbados, Planteray Rum Barbados 2022 – 287 g of esters is a molasses rum produced at the West Indies Rum Distillery (WIRD). This limited edition bottling is distinguished by its 287 g/hldap ester concentration and its 62.3% ABV.
The fermentation , lasting approximately two weeks , promotes the development of esters and contributes to the unique character of this rum. The rum is then double-distilled in two traditional pot stills , named Old Gregg and John Dore , thus perpetuating a historical Barbadian expertise.
The aging process begins in the tropical climate of Barbados, where the rum spends one year in ex-bourbon barrels . It is then transferred to France to continue maturing for a further three years in ex-cognac casks from Maison Ferrand. This double maturation combines the specific characteristics of two aging environments and is part of the approach developed by Planteray Rum.
Offered at cask strength , at 62.3% ABV, this rum is part of the Les Anthologistes collection, which highlights different expressions of rum through specific selections. Produced in a limited edition of 180 bottles.
