Planteray Rum 2022, with 411g of esters, is a traditional molasses rum produced by the Planteray distillery, formerly known as Plantation Rum. This vintage is part of the Les Anthologistes collection, developed by La Maison du Whisky to highlight exceptional spirits through carefully curated selections.
Distilled in 2022 , this rum is distinguished by a prolonged fermentation of four weeks , which allows it to reach a concentration of 411 g/dap of esters. It then undergoes double distillation in two historic pot stills , named Old Gregg and John Dore , helping to preserve the unique characteristics of its distillate.
Its aging process relies on Planteray's emblematic double maturation process. The rum first spends a year in a tropical climate in Barbados , in ex-bourbon barrels, before continuing its aging for 3 years in France , in ex-cognac barrels from Maison Ferrand.
Bottled at its natural strength of 63.5% vol., this limited edition is offered in numbered bottles of only 180 copies.
