Pura Vida XO is the little brother of El Pasador de Oro XO rum.
The company Les Bienheureux, which is behind the El Pasador de Oro brand, had only one wish: to become a full-fledged rum producer. Previously, the rum was selected from the only distillery in Guatemala, then matured and blended in France. From this wish was born the project and the Pura Vida brand.
Heading to Costa Rica, which offers a unique terroir and which ultimately remains little known in the world of rum.
This vintage is the result of a blend of three rums made from pure cane juice, molasses and cane honey. The entire process is controlled by the estate, which now belongs to the French company. From harvesting the cane to aging, including fermentation and distillation, each step is done on site. The rum benefits from an initial tropical aging in ex-bourbon oak barrels, then maturation in Charente in old Cognac tuns.
A case made from recycled bagasse adorns the magnificent carafe.
“Pura Vida” is also the motto of Costa Rica. It means “Enjoy life” in Spanish.
