Rasta Morris Bielle 8 ans 2011-2019 52,8° : Description et avis clients

Rasta Morris Bielle 8 Ans 2011-2019 is an independent bottling of rhum agricole. It comes to us from the small island of Marie-Galante, known for its unique terroir and authentic distilleries. It's the work of the Bielle distillery that is honored here, with an 8-year-old rum distilled in January 2011. It was aged in bourbon barrels until August 2019. Then it was shipped to Europe in November 2019 for bottling.

This brut de fût was not chill-filtered, and 258 bottles were produced.

Nico's tasting notes

On the nose, a beautiful intensity greets us, a little woody, but above all very fruity. It's the distillate that expresses itself more than the barrel, despite the rum's 8 years of age. And that's a good thing, because it's clear that the cane has taken its time to mature and compote. A veil of solvent surrounds the rum with mystery, and seems to conceal exotic fruits in shambles.

Aeration brings superb balance and remarkable roundness. The solvent has disappeared, revealing all its fruit. They come from the south of France, with juicy peaches, then go all the way back to Lorraine, with sweet mirabelle plums, before returning to the Caribbean with ripe banana and mango. And all of this is coated in fatty vanilla, much to our delight.

The palate is intense but very well balanced, so much so that the rum has already settled all over the taste buds without you even realizing it. The cane has reached such maturity and patina that it melts into jams of orange, apricot, mirabelle plum, peach... The woodiness is then introduced by sweet, pastry-like spices, it is tender but very tasty and takes the form of a cream very rich in vanilla.

The finish is warmly peppery, and spreads out like rum baba coated with apricot jam and cane honey.

"A superb Bielle that nourishes its fruity notes with those of American oak, and vice versa..."
