Rum Nation Peruano is a very old rum produced in the Lambayeque region of northern Peru.
The molasses from which it is fermented comes from sugarcane plants grown in the region itself. Distillation takes place in an old Scottish column, in a distillery founded in the middle of the 20th century.
During the 8 years it took to age, the solera system allowed several barrels to be mixed together.
Laurent's tasting notes
The coppery color of this rum promises gourmandise even before you put your nose to it.
On the nose, caramel and sugar: its color hadn't misled us. A hint of orange keeps it from going numb, and a tobacco aroma adds complexity.
On the palate, the attack is silky. Sweet caramel and a touch of vanilla coat the palate. Yet the rum is not too sweet, as the alcohol and sugar complement each other perfectly.
The caramel never leaves us, but this time it's accompanied by dried fruit (raisins and figs). There's also a slight hint of tobacco, and if you're patient enough (you should be) you'll be treated to a frank taste of chocolate on the palate. The finish is quite long, with a fine combination of tastes.
"Rum Nation brings us a gourmet rum at a low price."

Not to my taste, too sweet
customer
Typical of a Spanish ron, not too sweet and much less chemical or artificial tasting than a diplomatico, for example.
