Sample X Albion 9 ans is a molasses rum produced in Guyana by the Diamond Distillery (DDL). It is currently the Demerara's one and only distillery. Its distinctive feature is the use of legendary stills from neighboring distilleries that closed down.
This molasses rum has been distilled in the Port Mourant wooden alembic with settings to reproduce the style of Albion distillery rums. This style is rather rare and produced exceptionally by DDL.
Aging took 9 years, part of which was spent in the tropical climate of British Guiana.
This single cask produced 239 bottles in 2022. It was bottled by Kintra Spirits and The Rum Mercenary under the Sample X brand.
