Nico's tasting notes
The nose, fine in the first moments, offers us a lovely precision. With finesse, the rum begins to strip away its more roasted, slightly coppery notes. It then reveals a taut, fresh yet deep web of fruit.
Aeration reveals the fiber of soft, well-soaked wood. It gives off notes of sweet spices, vanilla and crème brûlée. There's something intensely glowing in the middle of this nose, an intense core that sustains a vibrant flame. The heart of the rum is frisky and expressive, yet contained and outlined by an elegant woodiness.
On the palate, the rum completes the set-up on the nose. A creamy attack is followed by suave, savory wood, then a vegetal, floral perfume that continues to caress the taste buds. Tannic black fruit clings to the taste buds for a moment, then gives way to a torrent of ripe fruit juices.
The finish is lightly roasted and coppery, with a gourmand aroma of chocolate tobacco.
"This rum really reveals itself on the palate, with a melting, balanced texture and flavors..."
