Tamdhu Batch Strength Batch IV is a Scottish single malt from the Speyside region. This is the fourth edition of Tamdhu's cask strength series.
It was aged in American and French oak casks containing oloroso sherry. It was bottled without reduction, coloring or cold filtration.
Florian's tasting notes
The dress is amber gold. Many tears, fine and fast.
The nose is massive, powerful, on sherry and orange, with a nice dose of caramel and plum. A pleasant nutty aftertaste makes you want to try it. A few drops of water will calm its ardor and open the door to baked pear, cinnamon and raisins.
Powerful opening on the palate, full on sherry; cocoa, hazelnut with toasted almond and vanilla. Some dried fruit. Orange zest and old wood take center stage. The finish reveals leather and tobacco. A little water reveals white fruit and prune.
Long finish of walnuts, honeyed toast and tobacco.
"An original whisky. Powerful and complex. Very rich aromatic palette. Tamdhu brut de fût, it works... "

A must-have for me, discovered on my previous order (sample offered and chosen at random), a very nice surprise in brut de fut of course!
