Toucan Le Floc du Pirate is a tribute to the Guyanese and Gascony origins of Toucan rums. Toucan agricultural rum is distilled in Saint-Laurent-Du-Maroni, Guyana, then reduced and refined in Toulouse. Gascony is best known for its famous floc, a blend of grape must and Armagnac. This Floc du pirate combines two great cultures, this time blending grape juice with a superb agricultural rum.
This aperitif is best served chilled, with or without ice, and can be enjoyed in a variety of ways, such as with a tonic.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose is a pleasant little sweetness, beginning with marzipan and pistachio. It's easy to imagine an oriental pastry well coated in honey. The indulgence is truly complete, as overripe grapes, butter, candied cane and sweet spices follow.
The palate is surprisingly acidic from the outset, taking us back to grape juice with a hint of verjuice. The rest of the tasting is much softer, even brioche-like, with a very soft, fluid texture, enhanced by a slightly fresh fruitiness.
"A real delicacy, this Floc is a successful bet for Toucan and for Gascony...".
