Del Maguey

The Del Maguey, Single Village Mezcal brand was created in 1995. It was created by artist Ron Cooper. Thanks to his relationships with producers in the villages ofOaxaca, Ron Cooper is able to offer traditional spirits. These are also certified organic.

Del Maguey is also the first brand to specify the village (currently 12 different villages) in which its mezcals are produced. What's more, each mezcal is marketed in a distinctive green bottle.

Traffic jams include the Vida, the Saint Luis del Rio, the Chichicapa, the Santo Domingo Albarradas and the Santa Catarina Minas.

Last but not least, Del Maguey has an ecological and social commitment to the Oaxaca region.

Agave, for example, is sustainably grown.
What's more, Ron Cooper has teamed up with growers to allow different species of agave to propagate naturally. This resonates with Zapotec culture, to which Ron Cooper is very close. This tends to maintain wild agave populations without direct human intervention. Read less
