In the farming town of Malelane, in the east of South Africa not far from the border with Mozambique, the young Mhoba distillery distills and ages its agricultural rum.

Robert Greaves, the distillery's founder, built all the equipment himself, from the fermentation vat to the pot still and the press...

The variety of cane used is called Nkomazi and grows not far from the distillery.

Thanks to long fermentations and original ageing processes in dame jeanne, rums from this South African distillery are expressive and complex. A great success. Read less
