Black Tears Cuban Spiced Rum is a spiced rum from the island of Cuba. It is made from Cuban rum aged for 2 years in ex-bourbon barrels. It is then infused with 100% natural spices. These include coffee beans, cocoa and "aji dulce" sweet peppers. All from the best Cuban terroirs, with no artificial flavoring added. It contains only 9 grams of sugar per liter.
Its name, Black Tears, is inspired by the famous song Lagrimas Negras, a Cuban music standard composed in 1929.
Nico's tasting notes
On the nose, spices gently unfold under the cut of candied orange peel. The sweet and bitter sides of citrus meet and balance to give way to vanilla, clove and nutmeg, with a hint of coffee that brings its share of roastiness and a fine touch of smoked paprika.
On the palate, the texture is round but perfectly balanced. This slight sweetness is simply there to balance the dark coffee notes that quickly assault the taste buds. These are pleasantly blended, and joined by other sweet spices, including vanilla.
