Nico's tasting notes
The nose is immediately lively and pleasant. A certain fruity, weathered "funk" emerges enthusiastically from the glass, accompanied by a slight coppery edge reminiscent of a fine still. A few sweet spices enrich the picture and bring out an almost pastry-like quality, reminiscent of cherry.
Aeration reveals superb honey notes, which roll off this fruity profile with ease. These aromas exacerbate all the others, and the rum balances itself out in a very gourmet way.
On the palate, the attack is dry and balanced, without any misplaced roundness. The profile is straightforward, led by the copper that will carry us through from start to finish. We encounter ripe exotic fruit, creamy notes, then wood in the form of a handful of toasted, slightly oxidized nuts.
The finish is as serious as it is pastry, with hints of stone.
"A very nice, well-balanced rum that packed in funky aromas while remaining affordable..."
