This Carnival Jamaican Rum cuvée is made with rums from two Jamaican distilleries.
The collaboration between Old Brothers and JoeyStarr under the Carnival Sun Juice brand aims to invite you to discover the cultural and festive roots of all horizons through quality rums.
For this3rd creation, the selection was made in the cellars of the Clarendon and Long Pond distilleries. Molasses rums are distilled in double retort pot stills.
They are aged for 3 to 5 years in ex-bourbon casks directly in the tropics.
The talented Nilko White designed the illustration for this bottle. He also designed the label for Old Brothers' first collaboration with JoeyStarr.
Nico's tasting notes
On the nose , there is no possible doubt, we have arrived in Jamaica! The exotic fruits overflow abundantly from the glass, they are more than ripe, full of sun and intoxicating tropical aromas. We already notice a little pastry hint, accompanied by a sort of creamy resin that makes the mouth water.
With a little air, the wild character of the rum surfaces. We then find aged fruits, a little leather, a slightly vinegary acidity, all with an irresistible authenticity and charm.
The mouth is completely in continuity with the nose, with this overflow of tropical fruits with thick and juicy flesh. The sun shines in the glass, which secretly houses a small square of dark chocolate, which pairs perfectly with the rest. It even turns into a praline when a handful of nuts appear, then lets itself be covered by all the fruity generosity of this rum.
The finish is long, slightly coppery, with almond paste which cushions the whole.
“A very pretty expression of Jamaica, which expresses itself fully but which remains completely accessible…”
