Cihuatan Alux is a rum from El Salvador produced by the Cihuatan distillery in the valley of the same name.
This rum is made from cane syrup and molasses. Its name refers to the Aluxes, the earth's guardian gods. They are represented by little prankster goblins, ready to play tricks on people who don't take care of crops and nature.
The blend created by Maestra Ronera Gabriela Ayala has been aged in the tropics for a minimum of 15 years. The casks used previously contained Sherry Oloroso and cognac.
