Like the "Clairin World Championship" series, Clairin Communal is a blend of the 4 distilleries Casimir, Sajous, Vaval, and Le Rocher.
While this blend is best suited to cocktails, it can also be drunk as a tasting rum.
Clairin Communal has all the characteristics of the 4 clairins that make it up: the sugar cane is guaranteed pesticide-free, harvesting is by machete, the yeasts are indigenous, and the rum is distilled in small iron stills. What more could you ask for?
Nico's tasting notes
On the nose, this is a Clairin as we like to find them: fresh and wild, natural and brutal. Here, we've decided not to sugarcoat things: the aromas are powerful and earthy, and we've chosen very aromatic clairins with notes of truffle, olive, exotic fruit and very ripe cane. The nose is massive and terribly authentic. There's also a very typical roundness, showing us a generous, opulent cane, simply spangled with a few spices.
The palate is soft but very generous in aroma. The fermented cane juice is rich and fruity, with shreds of olive brine, mango, pineapple or banana brandy. Truffle aromas carry the copper touch of the alembic, and a few animal notes (fresh leather, smoked meat) signal a rustic, farmhouse, but very gourmet side.
The finish continues on a slightly metallic cane, with a hint of salt and sweet aromatics.
"A beautiful summary of the spirit of the Clairins, exuberant and natural..."

Beautiful distillery. Buying direct from the producer was worth crossing the Atlantic for.
