As its name suggests, Clément Select Barrel is a blend of several cuvées selected for their distinctive character. The agricultural rums making up this blend were aged in new oak barrels for a minimum of three years. The blending was then carried out by Maison Clément's cellar master to obtain a smooth, well-balanced rum.
Select Barrel is appreciated dry.
Olivier's tasting notes
Clément Select Barrel is old gold in color.
On the nose, it's rather sweet. Ripe banana clearly dominates, along with a fresh, minty woodiness that's more discreet at first, but takes over as the rum is aired out.
On the palate, the rum is initially quite round, then becomes drier. This time, woodiness takes center stage, accompanied by pepper and licorice.
The finish has the same aromas as on the palate. Licorice eventually takes over and stays with us for a long time.
