A blend of Martinique sugar and rhum agricole, Clément Shrubb "Liqueur Créole" is a delicious orange composition based on a centuries-old Martinique recipe. An authentic West Indian flavor, this liqueur is a blend of old rum and white rum, with the addition of orange peel, cane syrup and spices.
A tropical delight awarded the gold medal at the Concours Général Agricole de Paris (2012), Shrubb "Liqueur Créole" can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks or with sparkling water. It is also ideal for cocktails.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose opens with orange peel and the sweet sensation of citrus syrup. A certain freshness is provided by squeezed orange juice. This is truly a liqueur, with the rum very discreet.
When the glass is shaken, the nose becomes livelier and spicier. Aeration reinforces the orange's fresh, acidic character, leaving us with a juicy zest.
On the palate, this shrubb is very smooth, and doesn't feel like 40°. Orange dominates, of course, accompanied by a pinch of sweet spice. There's a slight bitterness from the zest, but the liqueur retains a fairly natural edge thanks to this.
The impression left on the finish is very round and thick.
"An ice cube will be welcome to appreciate this liqueur..."
