La Favorite l'Authentique rum is now available in an amber version.
The hand-harvested sugar cane is crushed, and the resulting vesou is fermented before being distilled in the stainless steel Creole column at the distillery in Fort-de-France, Martinique. The Authentique ambré is then matured for 12 months in 20,000-liter oak casks.
This rum can be enjoyed dry, as a ti-punch or in a cocktail, according to your preferences.
Nico's tasting notes
On the nose, a fresh, natural cane presents itself, adorned with a light, peppery bark and a clear, sweet juice. This juice seems increasingly cooked as the rum opens, and develops greedy fruity notes.
Aeration brings out the rested, candied cane, which takes on the air of raw cane sugar, still adorned with sticky molasses. This delicacy combines with a few zests of lime, giving us the impression of a ready-made ti'punch.
On the palate, the cane juice offers a full-bodied texture, giving the sensation of chewing a sugarcane stick. Pepper mingles with a subtle woodiness, once again maintaining that natural, present feel on the palate.
The finish returns to fermented cane juice, with accents of steamed vegetables and vegetal flavors.
"A tasty cane that offers a very gourmet and natural texture..."
