Faria Tradicional's Magnifica cachaça is distilled in the "Alegria" triple still that is the pride of Joao Luiz de Faria.
It then spends a year in Ipê casks, a precious wood from the forests of South America. The particularity of this wood is its fine grain, making it an ideal material for aging.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose offers a green, resinous cane, wrapped in a ladle of honey. Concentration is expressed through a hint of solvent. The cask simply adds a little aromatic color, in keeping with the lovely eau-de-vie it contains. This translates into subtle woody and finely spiced notes, rounded out by round, stewed fruit.
Aeration brings out the distillate, and we're in the presence of an intense cane, with a fiber that delivers some dry, peppery aromas. A fine balance is established.
The palate is suave and delicate, with a natural cane that settles in very quickly and unfurls a few spices on the palate, as well as fruit and licorice. Its presence is light and stealthy, but gives off sweet, mellow cane sugar flavors.
The finish returns to the heart of the cachaça, with heavier notes of olive and copper.
"The short time in the barrel has added a few subtle, colorful touches..."
