Naud 15 ans is a rum from Panama distilled in a 20-tray copper column.
After initial aging in American oak barrels in a tropical climate, the rum is refined in the Naud family's Cognac cellars.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose opens with a woodiness that's both round and determined, with the ambition to coat the nostrils from the outset. Its expressiveness is quite pleasing, as it is supported by a sweetness, but above all by slightly deeper, wilder aromas in the background.
The aeration returns to the heart of the rum, to the sticky, liquorice molasses from which it was born. It also evokes notes of wood fire, tobacco and something sweetly empyreumatic.
The initially round, caramelized palate hides a slender, fruity rum, draped in heavy toasted oak bark. Its surface crackles with sticky molasses, ready to coat well-roasted, shiny black nuts.
The finish is round and luscious, with soft oak, vanilla and coconut milk.
"A very gourmand rum with generous aromas and flavors..."
