New Grove 2005 Belle Vue is a molasses rum from Mauritius, produced by Gray's distillery. This is a single estate rum, as all the molasses used to make the rum comes from the group's own sugar refinery. The latter is located in the village of Belle Vue, to which this cuvée pays homage.
After column distillation in 2005, the rum was casked in French Limousin oak barrels. After 15 years spent partly in new barrels, partly in ex-cognac barrels, it was bottled without any additives. It is the latest addition to the savoir-faire collection of New Grove, whose estate has remained in the family since 1838.
