This Reimonenq white agricultural rum is the result of a collaboration with Guillaume de Roany. The latter had the opportunity to select one of the best vintages of the previous season after a series of tastings. Bottling was then carried out on site at the distillery in Guadeloupe.
The Eiffel Tower on the bottle's label pays tribute to Leopold Reimonenq to celebrate the company's 100th anniversary. The Reimonenq distillery was founded in 1916 in Sainte-Rose.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose is full and warm, with ripe cane and thick, sweet juice. The rum seems velvety and mellow, like moist, fat cane sugar. Peppery bark and lime zest bring a slightly drier edge to the subtle balance.
With aeration, the drier, bagasse-like, vegetal, herbaceous side comes to the fore. The rum gains in intensity, becoming more vibrant but also a little more serious. Balance remains, however, as the ripe, gourmet cane has not disappeared.
The palate is soft and rather light, with a very fluid feel where the alcohol doesn't cling at all. Sweet citrus fruits deliver a fresh, fragrant juice, still endowed with a very slight bitterness. But there's more of a resolutely fruity side to the ripe cane heart that settles in mid-palate.
The finish continues on this gourmet path, with raw, fatty cane sugar.
"A very well-balanced cuvée, whose sweetness makes it more suitable for tasting than for ti'punch...".
