This rhum arrangé is made near Nantes from AOC rum from Martinique and Victoria pineapple, a variety grown only on Reunion Island.
It won a gold medal at the Concours Général Agricole in 2013.
Nico's tasting notes
On the nose, Victoria pineapple is extremely ripe and heady, its consistency filling the space. The pineapple's rind gives it a vegetal, exotic edge. Then comes the white rhum agricole in which a few grains of cane sugar have been melted. The atmosphere is truly tropical, warm and humid.
The pineapple becomes fresher with aeration. The rainforest air clears, revealing more cane and a vegetal register, on the straw of the cane.
The palate is full-bodied and the pineapple is hearty. Then it melts into the rum, which develops its citrus flavors. The sensation is not too sweet, just enough to be a little tart. It's also lightly spiced with pepper and cinnamon.
"We feel that this rhum arrangé makes a difference thanks to the quality of the ingredients selected..."
