This agricultural rum comes from the cellars of the Saint-Benoît Rivière du Mât distillery in Reunion. It is a blend of rums distilled directly from pure cane juice. Each of these rums has been aged for at least 6 years in oak barrels.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose opens with a very ripe, exotic fruitiness, ripe as fruit that has fallen from the tree. Then comes the cane, which immediately brings much greater clarity. It carries roundly vegetal aromas, also very ripe and opulent.
With aeration, the beeswax is mellow and still bursting with honey. The rum overflows with generosity, returning to the side of tropical jackfruit, with a lovely concentration underlined by a hint of solvent.
The palate is immediately filled with a fruity aftertaste, somewhere between overripe pineapple and slightly sweet green olive. This extremely tropical side is unusual in the world of agricultural rums. Yet it's pleasant and, above all, original. The cane even expresses itself unhindered on the mid-palate. It's a candied, matured cane, with accents of dried fruit.
The finish has the luxury of being downright agricultural, with fermented vesuvius and pepper.
"A highly original farm with some very funky accents..."

Like its name, its aroma is very special like a scent and above all a strong animal taste that I had never discovered in a spirit.
A truly cleaving rum that tortured my palate 🥵. Perhaps their molasses rums are less special.
