Nico's tasting notes
The nose is dominated by solvent, typical of the ethyl acetate found in some Jamaican rums. For the moment, it's hard to detect anything else. The alcohol is powerful (93%), and we're going to need a little dilution to find out what this rum has to tell us.
With aeration and dilution, it retains its nail polish remover character, with occasional hints of blackcurrant and blackberry.
The palate is still occupied by solvent notes, which at times break off into floral or flowery clouds. Molasses comes through on the mid-palate, with a hint of licorice. The texture is relatively round after a frank reduction.
The finish is rather light, and the alcohol evaporates quickly on the palate.
"An extreme, didactic experience that helps you understand the spirit of light rums in the Hispanic tradition..."
