Saint Aubin 1819 Classic Café is first distilled in a copper column. Coffee is then macerated for a long time in this pure cane juice rum.
While this coffee-infused rum is an excellent base for cocktails, it can also be served neat, very chilled over ice.
Nico's tasting notes
On the nose, the coffee leaves no time for any other aroma to compete. It's a fairly dark, tight coffee, to which the sugar has given full roundness, as in a pastry. One thinks for a moment of tiramisu, or coffee ice cream. The roast takes on more and more importance, bringing out more complex, piercing aromas.
The palate is soft in the first moments, with a coffee dessert or liqueur. The roast starts to rise and rise again, so much so that it takes on a very spicy, even spicy form. The heat subsides fairly quickly, giving way to an indulgent coffee rum with pecan accents.
"The roasted side of this rum is very rich and flavorful..."
