This Savanna rum is aged for 18 months in large oak casks. This preserves the aromas of distillation, while adding roundness and finesse.

In brief : candy - exotic fruits - thick - pastry-like
The nose first delivers surprising notes of strawberry and banana candy. It soon becomes clear that other, deeper aromas are waiting to take over from the confectionery. At first, they're a little acidic, but still fruity, like passion fruit or green banana. The solvent seems to want to reveal more, but the candy (vanilla this time) takes its place again, and we'll need a little aeration to find out more.
After passing the rum around the rim of the glass, the exotic fruit mingles with apple and pear to evoke whisky. The candy takes a back seat, more nuanced and more reminiscent of vanilla and dried fruits like candied papaya. With a few spices, banana and a brandy between pear and plum, we've really gained in complexity.
On the palate, a myriad of exotic fruits invade with a sensation of sweetness. A touch of copper and overripe fruit initiates a very pastry-like register, with lots of raisins. The rum seems thick and bold, with a nice, full texture.
On the finish, vanilla candy is surprisingly swept aside by a dry, vegetal hay-like quality.
