Secha De La Silva Rum Cacao Coffee is a rum-based spirit from Guatemala. In homage to the sumptuous rainforest, it has been named "Harvest of the Jungle". The rum is aged in toasted American oak barrels, then infused with typical rainforest ingredients: cocoa beans and coffee beans. This combination lends the rum a gourmet, rounded flavour, balanced with fuller-bodied, more intense notes.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose opens with vanilla candy, already showing a nice roundness. The rum is coated with cane sugar syrup and sprinkled with freshly ground coffee. The more you admire the rum in your glass, the smoother and sweeter it becomes. Its fatty side sometimes even leans towards nuts, and in particular pruned almonds.
On the palate, the attack is very suave and gourmand, and the rum coats the palate with its flavors of vanilla and other sweet spices. The coffee gradually makes its way in, spicing up the tongue a little more, until its full flavor is released.
"A rather subtle and very gourmand rum/coffee..."
