Also known as maracuja, passion fruit is one of the emblematic flavors of the tropics. Using real pulp, the Séverin distillery follows the traditional West Indian recipe to make this punch.
Nico's tasting notes
The first nose of this punch is rather energetic, on citrus fruits and spices like ginger. The passion fruit doesn't reveal itself immediately, but when it does, it's extremely ripe and sticky. One senses that the punch is quite sweet.
It continues to open up with very ripe exotic fruits (passion fruit and pineapple). In the end, there's little hint of rum, though a touch of acidity adds dynamism.
On the palate, the passion fruit is as ripe as ever, sprinkled with sweet spices and brown sugar. The sensation is very smooth on the palate.
By the end of the tasting, the passion fruit seems increasingly natural and regains its acidic character. Melting exotic fruits coat the taste buds.
