This Dormoy shrubb is made from Martinique white rum, cane sugar syrup and orange peel.
Shrubb is a speciality of the West Indies, eaten especially at Christmas. Don't hesitate to put it in the fridge or even the freezer before serving!
Nico's tasting notes
The nose opens with fresh citrus, in the form of lemon juice and bitter orange peel. The orange becomes more and more present with time, and offers us a fleshy peel, concentrated in oil, then as if spiked with coffee or spices.
The palate is very round and thick, lining the entire palate. Flavors of cane syrup come to mind, before the orange begins to diffuse its flavors. It then gives us a little spicy warmth on the mid-palate, as if the bitterness of its peel were trying to conquer our taste buds.
"A very smooth shrub, to be enjoyed very chilled, on the rocks..."
