World Esters is a new brand created in 2021 by Anthony Martins. Anthony Martins is one of the two founders of Old Brothers, which already enjoys an excellent image.
Here, he unveils a blend of rums from 3 islands renowned for their production of molasses with character. The blend features rums from the West Indies Rum distillery in Barbados, Long Pond in Jamaica, and Savanna on Reunion Island.
This is an aromatic, well-balanced rum intended above all for mixology.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose is a veritable bonbon, a sweetness of red fruits, exotic fruit syrups such as passion fruit, mango and pineapple, rounded out by a touch of coconut milk.
Aeration releases a wilder, more organic aspect, where the fermenting molasses is more intensely felt. The exotic fruit becomes increasingly ripe, to the point of going over the edge, much to our delight.
The palate is very smooth, giving us plenty of time to enjoy this little red-fruit cream. A hint of herbs and spices gently grabs the taste buds, giving us a glimpse of concentrated, resinous fruit notes.
The finish continues with fruit, banana candy, and red and black berries.
