Worthy Park 109 Proof 54.5° (54.5°)

Worthy Park 109 proof is presented here in 70cl. This is a Jamaican "single estate" rum. All stages in the rum-making process take place on the estate, from planting the cane to bottling the rum, whether unaged or barrel-aged.

This rum is distilled in the famous traditional Forsyths pot still used to produce all rums from this estate.
The name "109 Proof" for this cuvée means that it contains 54.5% alcohol. This precise degree corresponds to "gunpowder proof", i.e. the degree at which gunpowder ignites even when soaked in rum. At one time, barrels of gunpowder traveled in the same holds as barrels of rum.
