Johnnie Walker

Johnnie Walker is a brand of Blended Scotch Whisky whose origins date back to 1820. At the time, John Walker owned a grocery store in Ayrshire, Scotland. He bottled his first whiskies under the Walker's Kilmarnock Whisky brand. However, it was only after his death in 1857 that blended whisky was authorized, and his sons took over the business. The first blended whisky, Walker's Old Highland, appeared in 1865.
It was a great success, and several blends were produced, already with a highly recognizable color code. The Johnnie Walker brand was born in 1908, and has enjoyed undiminished success to this day. Read less
