Pusser's
Pusser's is a colloquial Royal Navy term for a logistical officer.
In its broadest sense, it also refers to any service provided by Her Majesty's Navy. The Pusser's was responsible for the management of the daily rum ration for sailors between the 17th century and 1970.
This ration was granted to make life on board ship less arduous for sailors.
In 1979, Charles Tobias, the founder of the Pusser's brand, obtained the rights to the Royal Navy recipe and decided to found his company in Tortola, British Virgin Islands. Still true to the tradition of Royal Navy rums, Pusser's Rums are distilled in wooden stills following a 200 year old tradition.
Today, Pusser's is the only rum that faithfully reproduces what sailors have long tasted.
It is important to note that no sugar or flavouring is added to Pusser's rums before they are bottled.
Several international awards attest to the quality of Pusser's rums. Read less
