Rum Artesanal
Rum Artensanal is an independent German bottler that used to be called Rum Albrecht. It was famous for its Long Pond series. Today, this subsidiary of Heinz Eggert & Co, a major importer of wines and spirits, is interested in all terroirs, under the supervision of Dominik Marwede.
The 60 years of experience of the parent company of Rum Artesanal, both in importing and even in producing spirits, has a unique advantage. Indeed, it has direct links with the distilleries. This allows for personalized supplies, whether in bulk or in casks. These same casks can also be reused for in-house maturation. This is the case, for example, for this Cuban Artesanal Rum matured in Venezuelan rum barrels.
Thus, Rum Artesanal benefits from a source of white rums that it can age in its own way, but also from barrels selected by it. Among these specific rums are batavia arracks from Indonesia, as well as Jamaican high ester rums that the company uses for the famous German rum-verschnitt.
Under the umbrella of Heinz Eggert & Co, there was also once a Jamaican bottling and trading brand called Burke's. Its recipe has been recreated to offer Burke's White and Burke's Seamaster blends.
But the heart of the Rum Artesanal range is now composed of single casks of various origins, often raw casks. The direct supply, as well as the 50cl format chosen, allow the brand to display an unbeatable quality / price ratio. Read less
