Rum Artesanal Burke's White Blended Rum is a tribute to Burke's, a bottling and trading brand created in Jamaica at the end of the 19th century. This brand produced blends that enjoyed a certain success in Germany, all of which contained a Jamaican rum base.
So it is, of course, with this blend of pot-still white molasses rums from Jamaica and Réunion. It's a heavy, highly aromatic rum, with 444g/hlap of esters.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose is round and full of funk, with a good whiff of very exotic, very ripe jackfruit. The exuberance and creaminess of Jamaican high esters are present in a generous, enveloping bouquet.
Aeration reveals an even rounder profile, as expressive and tropical as ever. The fruit takes on a pastry-like patina of almond and stone, with a brioche-like character.
The palate is powerful and expressive, not very refined but devilishly effective. The exotic fruits seem to contain vibrant, almost metallic cores. They cling to the palate, actively warming it in an almost spicy way. The pastry register takes over and calms things down a little, with the exotic fruits becoming inordinately ripe and almost creamy.
The finish is very long, a touch iodized, with a hint of olive, again typical of an ultra-aromatic, tropical style.
"An explosive blend that's sure to go down a treat in a tropical cocktail...".

We regret that there are only 5 cl (but that's enough to appreciate the finesse).
