Cachaça Soledade Bálsamo is made from pure cane juice, fermented and distilled twice. It is aged for 18 to 24 months in balsam casks, a type of wood found in the Brazilian rainforest.
It can be enjoyed neat, with or without ice, or in cocktails such as caipirinha.
Nico's tasting notes
On the nose, there's a round, slightly acidic cane with ripe lime juice. The sensation is really sweet, like a lemonade with sugarcane syrup. A few melted spices form a velvety carpet, between tonka bean and cinnamon.
Aeration brings some fermentation notes, slightly acidic and rather green, which are immediately balanced by the overall roundness that emanates from this cachaça. The citrus flavors are as striking and sweet as ever, and the impression of slightly spicy lemon syrup never leaves us.
The palate goes straight to a fairly dry cane, imbued with bagasse and straw flavors. It then opens up to a tasty pepper and sweet spices. The bitterness of lime zest wins out in the end, with the cane juice still fresh and clean.
The finish is light, the cachaça fading easily.
"A cachaça that will add roundness to a caipirinha, while remaining fresh and discreet..."
