Like all Faria Envelhecida cachaça, Magnifica de Faria is distilled in the "Alegria" triple still.
It is then aged for at least 2 years in oak barrels.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose is still marked by cane brandy, despite the considerable ageing. The cane has brought out the best in the wood, rather than the other way round. As a result, it has retained its freshness, herbaceous, fatty and slightly spicy character, as well as a certain green, tropical thickness.
With a little aeration, the aromas of aging begin to emerge from the glass. Greediness and complexity are the order of the day, with waxed wood and stone. Then, ripe, velvety exotic fruits inevitably evoke mango. The planty, resinous freshness retains the aromas of American oak (vanilla, coconut, caramel, tobacco), preserving a certain elegance. The cachaça is deliciously concentrated, and continues to open with copper and lightly roasted nuts.
On the palate, the texture is soft and placid. The cane is elegant and richly dressed, colored with flowers and exotic fruits. Toasted oak adds bite, supported by pepper, then the cane juice melts the tannins, turning them into dried fruit.
The finish is reminiscent of aged agricultural rums, with dried apricot, fresh cane and a hint of lime zest bitterness.
"An elegant cachaça that has benefited from ageing without ever losing its youthful spirit...".

The idea of a sample is good, but I think the label on the little bottle was very badly done, it was blurry.
